Winter Night Shelter

Medway Winter Night Shelter (MWNS)

Medway Winter Night Shelter is an informal organisation established by Churches Together in Medway prior to Christmas 2015.

The motivation is a desire to show love and compassion to the homeless in Medway. The project provides a rolling night shelter with 12 bed spaces every night from January to March 2018 – guests sleep at a different church venue each night.

More than 100 volunteers drive, move the equipment from church to church, cook, serve and sit with our homeless guests who come to us for accommodation, food and friendly company. We believe in providing a high quality and compassionate service to our homeless guests many of whom have a range of support needs, such as alcohol dependency and mental health issues.

Strood Community Project acts as the Accountable Body for MWNS.
